Catalogue Note:
This is the eighth recording by Mark Challinor's outstanding five-piece band - five of the other seven are
still available on CD - and, like their last CD, it was recorded (in April 2004) under studio conditions.
The line-up is unchanged - Ged Hone cornet; Mike Hayler clarinet, tenor sax; Mike Pembroke trombone; Mark
Challinor banjo; Howard Worthington double bass. The two-piece drummer-less rhythm section is one of the
best anywhere, and the excitement generated by the supremely able front-line is undoubtedly a major factor
in the band's popularity. The tunes are:- The Old Spinning Wheel In The Parlour, Smile Darn Ya Smile,
You've Gotta See Mama Every Night, On A Coconut Island, Way Down Upon The Swannee River, Wabash Blues,
Bluebells Goodbye, St Louis Blues, Wait Till The Sun Shines Nellie, Creole Song, Blue Turning Grey Over You,
Said I Wasn't Gonna Tell Nobody, Africa Blues, One Sweet Letter From You, Louisian I Ay(70mins)
