"Capturing the best in British Traditional Jazz"

Jensen's New Orleans Jazz Serenaders featuring Brian Carrick & Eddie Bruhner -
"Live at the 2004 Keswick Jazz Festival"

Catalogue Note:
This is a family band - Kurt Jensen on clarinet and tenor sax, his wife Nan Ehrenstrale on double bass and daughter Nina on banjo and vocals, with drummer Ronald Anderson. At Keswick 2004 they were joined by Brian Carrick (clarinet and tenor sax) and Eddie Bruhner (trumpet). Having two reed players, both of whom doubled on clarinet and tenor sax, gave rise to some interesting sound variations - two clarinets on some tracks, two tenors on other tracks, etc. The band’s style is what one might call ‘earthy New Orleans’ and the tunes are:- Get Out Of Here And Go On Home, On A Coconut Island, Hindustan, How Great Thou Art, Jambalaya On The Bayou, I Can’t Escape From You, Corrine Corrina, Nyboders Pris, Cat’s Got Kittens, Crazy, South, The Old Spinning Wheel In The Parlour, Down By The Riverside, Joe Avery’s Piece. (72 mins) CD only. Scheduled for release at the end of September 2004.
