"Capturing the best in British Traditional Jazz"

Keith Nichols' Little Devils -
"The Charmful Little Armful"

Catalogue Note:
I recorded this fabulous session at the Bude Festival of 2003. Many of you will know that if you go to a live concert with one of Keith Nichols’ bands you are in for a real treat - as well as superb jazz you can look forward to two hours of great entertainment - this session was no exception, and I’m very pleased to say the atmosphere has been successfully captured on the CD. Keith’s recently formed 7-piece band played a wonderful musical tribute to the great Fats Waller. The line-up is Enrico Tomasso trumpet, James Evans clarinet and saxes, Adrian Fry trombone, Keith Nichols piano and vocals, Martin Wheatley banjo and guitar, Jim Ydstie double bass, Richard Pite drums. They were joined near the end of the session, on three tracks, by Matthias Seuffert clarinet and tenor sax. The tunes are:- I’m Crazy ‘bout My Baby, The Minor Drag, Keeping Out Of Mischief Now, Wildcat Blues, My Fate Is In Your Hands, Ain’t Misbehavin’, Serenade To A Wealthy Widow, Livin’ In A Great Big Way, I’ve Got My Fingers Crossed, Fats Wallers’ Original E Flat Blues, A Handful Of Keys, Dinah, I Believe In Miracles, Your Feet’s Too Big, The Joint Is Jumpin’. Great tunes, top musicians, fantastic entertainment. (66 mins)
