"Capturing the best in British Traditional Jazz"

The Antique Six Jazz Band -
"Renovated"

Catalogue Note:
I last recorded the Antique Six Jazz Band in 2001. Since then the personnel has changed almost completely, most recently of course following the death of Dick Chapman and the retirement from the band of his wife Jackie. In recent years this has become one of the best traditional jazz bands in England and it is encouraging that they are continuing the fine work done by Dick and Jackie. The new line-up is Chris Mercer trumpet, Chris Pearce clarinet and saxes, Richard Leach trombone, Clinton Sedgley banjo, Andy Robins double bass, Graham Smith drums. The tunes on their latest CD, recorded in January 2006 are:- Come Back Sweet Papa, All The Girls Go Crazy, Someday Sweetheart, Harlem Folk Dance, Working Man Blues, Black Bottom Stomp, Smokey Mokes, Tin Roof Blues, I’m Crazy ‘bout My Baby, Perdido St Blues, Algiers Strut, Over The Rainbow, Since My Best Girl Turned Me Down, Saint James Infirmary, Bouncing Around. Great band - great CD (76 mins)
