The Ken Colyer Legacy New Orleans Band -
"Some Changes Made"

Catalogue Note:
Since the band's last recording in 2003 their link with the Ken Colyer Trust has been severed - hence the change of name. The line-up on this excellent CD is Tony O'Sullivan trumpet, John Crocker clarinet and tenor sax, Len Baldwin trombone, Peter Morcom banjo, Gerry Rose double bass and Malc Murphy drums. The band's commitment is not to slavishly copy the sound of a Ken Colyer band but to play, with integrity, the style of music to which Ken devoted his life. In this regard I think they succeed admirably. The tunes on this CD, recorded (not live) in May 2006, are:- Linger Awhile, Gravier Street Blues, My Memphis Baby, In The Upper Garden, My Little Girl, Gettysburg March, Down Home Rag, Amour, I Can't Believe That You're In Love With Me, Precious Lord Take My hand, Algiers Strut, Cecilia, Mobile Stomp, June Night, Gally House Blues, Rip 'em Up Joe, Down In Honky Tonk Town.
