"Capturing the best in British Traditional Jazz"

The Antique Six Jazzband -
"Crystal Clear"

Catalogue Note:
The band is approaching its fifteenth or Crystal anniversary - hence the title and celebratory front cover! This is their third CD for P.E.K. since they underwent major personnel changes following the death of Dick Chapman about four years ago. The band's huge popularity is due in part to their extremely high standard of musicianship, but also I think to their wide and interesting repertoire of tunes - you can't easily pigeon-hole this band! The tunes are:- Joe Avery's Piece, I Never Knew Just What A Girl Could Do, Beale Street Blues, Bye Bye Blackbird, Magnolia's Wedding Day, Blue Turning Grey Over You, Over In The Gloryland, On Treasure Island, Snag It, Mabel's Dream, Wolverine Blues, Do You Know What It Means To Miss New Orleans, Bourbon Street Parade, Savoy Blues, Bluin' The Blues, Nagasaki. (73mins). The line-up (unchanged from their two previous CDs) is:- Chris Mercer trumpet; Chris Pearce clarinet, soprano alto saxes; Richard Leach trombone; Clinton Sedgley banjo & guitar; Andy Robins double bass; Graham Smith drums.
