Richard Leach's superb band, playing music in the Alex Welsh syle, goes from strength to strength, as this great CD proves conclusively. The skillful choice of tunes, the variations of line-up from seven-piece band to trio, and the live club atmosphere all combine to make this a CD packed with interest and enjoyment. This CD (like the band's previous four) was recorded live at Stourbridge RFC Jazz Club and the line-up is, Gordon Whitworth trumpet, Chris Pearce clarinet and alto sax, Richard Leach trombone, Mike Graver piano, Brian Mellor guitar and banjo, Roger Davis double bass, Graham Smith drums.
