"Capturing the best in British Traditional Jazz"

The Millennium Eagle Jazz Band -
"Canal Street Blues"

Catalogue Note:
Since their last recording (in March 2007, PKCD-313) the band have replaced their young drummer Julyan "Baby Jools" Aldridge with the even younger and equally talented Jack Cotterill. This excellent CD features the band live at Sutton Coldfield Jazz Club in November 2008. The band were on fine form and certainly do justice to the 13 tracks:- Fidgety Feet, Yellow Dog Blues, A Porter's Love Song To A Chambermaid, Gatemouth, Petite Fleur, My Little Bimbo, Mabel's Dream, South Rampart St Parade, Beautiful Dreamer, China Boy, Canal St Blues, I'm Crazy 'bout My Baby, Wolverine Blues. The line-up is:- Peter Brown trumpet & valve trombone; Matt Palmer clarinet & soprano sax; Andy Holdorf trombone; Chris Etherington banjo; Brian Lawrence double bass; Jack Cotterill drums. Jack, a remarkably talented young musician, is the Grandson of Pete Cotterill who played drums with, among others, Martin Bennett's Old Green River Band until his death in about 2004. (67min)
