LET THE GOOD TIMES ROLL!
This is the fund-raising CD for New Orleans musicians which I recorded last December. To date I have sold 128 copies and forwarded £1024 to the NOrMAL Appeal. They have in turn sent the funds raised to the New Orleans Musicians’ Clinic and The Jazz Foundation of America. This CD (PKCD-284) has now been deleted from my catalogue and when the last few copies have gone there will be no more.
So now is your last chance to obtain a copy of this special CD and make your contribution to helping New Orleans musicians who, in many cases, have lost everything as a result of Hurricane Katrina’s devastation of New Orleans in August 2005.

KESWICK FESTIVAL 2007
I know it’s still not yet the end of 2006 but here’s a reminder that tickets for the 2007 Keswick Jazz Festival are now on sale and, as many of you are aware, they sell out quite early in the New Year. This will be the sixteenth Keswick Festival and for 2007 it runs for five days from Wed May 9th to Sun May 13th with a truly sensational line-up of the best of UK and international bands.
So don’t delay, if you want to go to this superb jazz festival in a particularly lovely part of the country, book your tickets very soon.

CARE OF CDs
I’ve said all this before but I think it bears repeating. CDs are NOT indestructible! They need careful handling - always by the edge - don’t allow finger marks on the playing surface, and always keep them in their cases when not being played. Scratches on either the top or bottom surface can render a CD unplayable.
If you need to clean a CD use a clean lint-free cloth (a spectacle cleaning cloth is ideal) and wipe from centre to edge, not round and round. If the CD is badly marked with grease, or marmalade etc. moisten the cloth with a little soapy water; then rinse and dry the CD carefully. I have a stock of single-use CD cleaning wipes; if you’d like a few let me know when you order your CDs - they are free!

LOOKING AHEAD
I’m afraid that, yet again, the CD of Dave Brennan’s Jubilee Jazz Band has been delayed - this time not my fault! I hope it will be complete in time for the next Newsletter in March 2007.
I’ve just recorded Richard Leach’s 7 Stars Of Jazz (with Allen Beechey on trumpet). It was a superb session and early indications are that it will result in an excellent CD, probably around March next year.
A date is fixed, early in the New Year, for another recording by the ever-popular Antique Six Jazzband - release around March 2007.
In the next few weeks the new CD from Mike Lovell’s Allstars with Rosie Harrison will be completed; it will be listed in the Spring 2007 catalogue. Also due for release early next year is a CD by The Lains Barn Allstars. This exciting band played a storming session in March 2006. I think the excitement of a great evening is well captured on the recording - don’t miss this one when it comes out!
It’s too early to say with absolute certainty but, of the sessions I recorded at Bude this year, there are likely to be CDs by Paul Munnery’s Swing Street, Ken Pye’s Creole Serenaders and Hokum.
Bands scheduled to be recorded next year include The Ken Colyer Legacy New Orleans Jazz Band, The John Maddocks Jazzmen, and The Dave Donohoe Band.
I’ll look forward to meeting some of you at either the Keswick or Bude Festivals in 2007, and in the meantime I wish you all a very Merry Christmas and a Happy and, of course, Jazzy New Year.
